reiki session suggestions

pre + post reiki session recommendations

What to expect during your session…

  • Reiki sessions are held at DUNE, Fairfield Beach - 1160 Reef Road, Fairfield CT.

  • There is a reserved parking space for you in the DUNE lot, it is the last space on the right as you pull into the parking lot. Please use this space to avoid getting a ticket.

    • If you choose to park on the street, please read the parking signs carefully; resident beach stickers are required for street parking in this area from Memorial Day - Labor Day.

  • We will meet in the “Wellness” room on the 2nd Floor — there is a set of stairs to go up; if you have any physical limitations that the stairs would interfere with, please contact me ASAP and I will make arrangements to accommodate you elsewhere: hello@brooksbetts.com.

    • If you arrive early please text me before coming upstairs (508) 207-8138 as I might be wrapping up with another guest or prepping the room for you. You are welcome to wait in the chairs outside of the main office and there is also a great market / cafe across the street (Old Post Market) if you want to get a coffee or bite to eat.

  • When you enter you’ll remove your shoes; otherwise you’ll stay fully clothed. I recommend you wear something comfortable and warm – it’s common for your body temperature to dip during energy work. I especially recommend warm socks.

  • We’ll spend a few minutes reviewing your goals for the session and any questions you have.

  • You’ll lie down on the Reiki table (it’s just like a massage bed) and I will then help you settle in with some light breathing exercises and a short, guided meditation.

  • I will begin the Reiki treatment, which will be about 30 minutes long.

  • We’ll save some time at the end to discuss your experience and review any questions and pull an Oracle card if you choose to.

  • Your entire session will be about 50 mins.

After your session…

Everyone responds a little differently to Reiki. Some people will have sensations and emotions rise to the surface during treatment, while others may simply feel relaxed and notice these shifts in the hours, days and weeks following. There is no right or wrong reaction to experience a Reiki session, most clients enjoy the feeling of relaxation, listen to your body, rest if needed.

Some recommendations:

  • Stay hydrated following your session. Up your water intake and avoid too much caffeine and alcohol for the next few days.

  • Epsom salt baths are a great way to further cleanse and ground the body.

  • Seek out quiet time, you may notice your intuition is a little louder, allow yourself to hear her.
